Based on these, it would appear that Porsche kept the color codes standard when they did the body change in the 996.2. Thank you for logical German engineering. Well except for the levelling motor...
This would mean that it is not about the pins to colors to match:
A1 => BK/WH
A2 => GR/BK
A3 => YE/WH
A4 => WH/BK
A5 => ?? (blank?)
A6 => BN (ground)
====Levelling Motor==== (A7 calls for WH/RD, but this will be GR/RD)
A7 => GR/RD
A8 => GR/YE
A9 => GR/BK
A10 => GR/BU
=================
A11 => YE/BK
A12 => BN (Ground)
That would counts for all 11 existing wires with one spot being empty.
This would mean that it is not about the pins to colors to match:

The pins are numbered on the headlight (2002+), however they are:
Bottom Right to Left = 1-6
Top Left to Right = 7-12

Haven't hooked it up yet. Just had my Deutsch connectors show up.
Do you have you wires hooked up to the pins as I listed above? The colors I listed above are from the 996.1 harness and matched to the pins on the 996.2 headlights.

low beam + yellow/black + yellow/black
- brown - brown
high beam + white/black + yellow/white
- brown - brown
fog light + yellow/white +white/black
- brown - brown
turn signals + black/white +black white
side markers + green/gray
low beam + yellow/black + yellow/black
- brown - brown
high beam + white/black + yellow/white
- brown - brown

996-622-314-00-OEM 996 Right Headlight harness 996 2002-2004 Xenon
996-622-317-00-OEM 996 Left Headlight harness 996 2002-2004 Xenon
If that is so, that is fine, but does anyone have the wiring schematics of which color goes where, etc?
Obviously I know my next DIY article...
