Muffler Question

Well, I have the Fister/PSE hack mufflers now and they do sound good under acceloration and back pressure seems fine, but I was wondering how much louder are muffler bypass pipes? And how much back pressure is lost with the bypass pipes? I did do a youtube search but audio is not top notch

Thanks, Jim

Straight pipes are loud. I think you will also lose some low end torque. You can hear close to the same thing by just removing the mufflers. I would not run it very long like that unless you remove the rear bumper cover.

Really, I wish there was someone in my area that had muffler bypass pipes on so I could hear first hand. No such luck though I guess

I run both. Bypass pipes are good for a short time, but after a while the drone just kills me, and I'm happy to go back to the Fisters. I don't think they are too loud if you are running stock cats, for me it is just the drone, otherwise I would run them all the time.

You can't beat the cold start sound on bypass pipes, wide open throttle on a freeway, and just being overtly obnoxious when getting groceries.

Just buy a set of ebay pipes - not a huge investment, I would say it is worth it.

Mine has Fabsped headers and bipass with Fabspeed muffler. The only way to explain the sound of my car is......stupid loud lol. I love it!!! People compliment the sound of my car all the time.

I replaced my stock with fabspeed valvetronic and love it. Two modes for loud when you want it. I figured I'd take the car for a quick spin with the mufflers off to see what a bypass would sound like and it really just felt likes car with no mufflers untiil I opened it up which does sound pretty cool. Too much as a daily driver and I felt like one of those 4 cylinder honda guys that gun it between every stop sign... The valvetronic is the best of both worlds. Of course now I need 200 cell cats to finish the mod.

If you have a Areo kit on your Porsche. Then the bypass pipe is perfect for your car. It will look mean & sound mean!

I agree with everyone on here. I did the muffler delete/bypass and the 911 sounds like a cup car almost! The drone sucks but you get somewhat used to it.

I get annoyed by the noise/drone if I go for longer drives over an hour or so.
For joy riding it's awesome however. Get a lot of people twisting their necks and positive attention.
