Fabspeed vs Ruf

I drive an '04 996 Cab. and have changed a few bits and pieces to sort the handling and am now looking for a few extra horses.

So far I've fitted PSS9s, GT3 rear sway bar and drop links, GT3 front control arms and an EVO intake. I'm also running Champion RG5 Monolites which are sensational. Unsprung weight was just a theory until I put these on!

The handling is now very predictable and very very sweet (see http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/re.../2005.WAKE.SS1 to see just how good it is....look at number 11).

I want to change the exhaust and fit sports cats but can't find enough information on the differences between the Fabspeed setup and the Ruf setup.

If you could help me with some input it would be greatly appreciated.

I have owned both exhausts on my 996. The Fabspeeds are a good bang for the buck exhaust with good build quality, they have a very throaty deep roar. The Ruf exhaust has a unique sound, very much like an air cooled car at idle and a very raspy Ruf roar at full throttle. Build quality on the Ruf was flawless, of course. Very aggressive sound. The only knock on the Ruf was the price, it costs about $2K.
If I was going to do it again I would stick with the Ruf.

I have the Cargraphic Exhaust and think it is fantastic. Just a little more aggressive than the Fabspeed. However I can only compare it to my friends '02 Carrera Fabspeed exhaust.

I am considering Cargraphic headers and cats, but that will cost approx. $4k. I will need to save those pennies. I undersand that the mod will increase horsepower by approx. 40.

I agree, Fabspeed is an excellent product for the price.
The sound alone is worth the change, besides a sports car should sound like a sports car,and the exhaust mod is the perfect compliment to the intake.
