Got a buyer & now just can't sell...what to do?
02 996 w/32k miles- x-74, tubi, sport technos,RSS plenum, new rms, clutch-xtended warranty till 7/13-- owned it 5 yrs,
was looking at one owner 20k mile 05 turbo S conv for fair price at local dealer--loved it except for carmona red. listed my car for 27.5k had buyer but decided i couldn't sell it- it handles and sounds just as i want & didn't want to spend $20-25k on turbo which i didn't want. Still looking for the right turbo but difficult here in the islands.

If you want the additional speed, sell it and get a 996 Turbo. If you're more in the looks department, sell off your headlights and front bumper to offset the cost and go with a Prior Designs 997 conversion to match the rear. While you're at it get a different and less "girly-man" rear wing.

i'm kind of sad...but what i'll do i think is also sell my BMW and just get a 997 & go all out..& make it my only car...PS: That rear wing (OEM) is very subtle + Sporty & matched the original rear bumper well, if i would have put a big rear wing with the original bumper wouldn't have looked right
Yes its OEM & on the original window sticker as an Exclusive option
The first answer is make up your mind before you start monkeying with other people's time and money. Then do the "big boy" thing and follow through with what you started. I hope he buys it from you but if I were him I would move on to something else.
#1 i dont "monkey" when i hadn't made up my mind, i told the buyer straight up give me 2 days to give you a solid answer, and thats what i did, i committed to selling it! Now no matter what i wouldn't change my mind, "all i got in this world is my word & my *****...and i dont break em for nobody"
I was in your position a year ago. Had my M5 tastefully modded and owned it for 5 yrs. Thought I'd never sell until I got the itch for something else. I had a buyer and backed out before we got into any negotiations or wasting anyone's time. Snatched the for sale ad down and kept her for another 5 months. Then the itch came back and I finally followed through. I regretted the sale right after it was completed. Only because I wasn't sure of what to get. It was between the Porsche and the NSX. Finally got the Porsche and couldn't be happier. Selling the M5 doesn't really bother me now. If you are already seriously considering it....you'll never be happy until you let her go and get that 997. Good Luck!
Thats pretty good price you have it sold for. I would sell and get a 997. The 996 will just keep getting cheaper and cheaper, faster and faster. I really liked mine but it didn't make sense putting a whole lot of money into it because I would of taken a beating. The 997s are doing a little better on the depreciation side.
although I think that wing matches up with the vert better and the gt3 wing better on coupes, but that's just my personal preference.GLWS!
Can't stand all the "rose gold" rage too but I would take the IWC Pilot in the Bourne Legacy movie without complaints.
