Yep, it came that way. I used to think that other C2s had it open there, but realized that it was either just painted black or had a black plastic insert which gave the illusion of it being open. I've been meaning to get that painted, just haven't gotten around to it yet (i have a ton of chips anyways). It will look WAY better once it's black.
