C22002 is infamous around these parts
changing the ECU

I needed to change the ECU on my 02 cab. I got a used one, but it is from a coupe. Everything works fine, except for the remote door locks. The original has two buttons - one for the front trunk and one for the doors. The replacement fob has three buttons. I have changed the ECU/DME and matching immobilizer. I kept the original ignition, and just swapped the blade in the matching key fob of the replacement. I have the VIN number of the donor, but not the password of the ECU/DME. So, the questions are:
  1. Should the fob for the original work with the donor ECU/DME if I swap the "pill?" This would mean that the frequencies of the cab and coupe are the same for the corresponding functions on both fobs.
  2. Do I have any options otherwise?

You should be able to get either one or both of the fobs programmed by a dealer, if you provide them with the VIN from the car you got the ECU out of. The dealer can get the programming codes from Porsche with the VIN. They'll usually charge you around a half hour of labor.
