what the Hell is this!? i know it's not good
996 water pump gone. 85k miles
That's what i was thinking.. at first I was hoping for just leaky tubes. But the motor was smoking wayy too bad for just that. I can replace the water pump myself so I'll start with that today and hopefully that'll do it. Thanks! and i'll let you know
That's because your tank has dry rot cracks most likely.
this is probably gonna be a cheap fix- replace waterpump, hoses & you will be fine! no big deal i bet!

Good ideas above. Personally, I would have a pressure test done FIRST to pinpoint the source or cause of the leak. Then spend to fix.
P.S. However, I have read that "related" components be replaced at the same time (e.g. WP, t-stat, tank, hoses/fittings)

996 coolant reservoir tanks can crack and was in a TSB years ago. Not every car has had it replaced. Thankfully the replacement tank is a cheap part and doesn't crack as easily. Search here and Rennlist. Hopefully that's all it is. It's definitely dramatic when they fail - my car spewed plumes of smoke all the way to the office parking lot when mine went - somewhat embarrassing, but what can you do?

Did you get a better chance to pin point where the leak was coming from this weekend ?
