Jacking Spots which is which??? (Pictures)
Jacking Spots which is which??? (Pictures)
Hi guys! I've searched and visited similar threads but couldn't really pinpoint the exact location of the 'other' jack and jack stand spots on the diagram on the left and last pictures versus the real thing. The only jack spots that were really obvious are those on the sides marked by "X".
I'm changing my sparkplug tubes and oil this coming weekend and want to make sure that when I put the 911 on a jackstand I don't inadvertently add damages to the car. Am I right in assuming that the other jackstand spot towards the rear is the one with this thick bolt and nut (encircled)? Or is this the engine support or something? Help identify please please. TIA!

DIAGRAM:
There are four jack pads each one near the wheels. The front pads are located just behind of the front wheels and the rears are located just in front of the rear wheels. You can't miss them. Unless, of course, you're looking at that picture of yours. Never jack on a bolt.
@denvesteve - got it - thanks!
@kromdom - this is great stuff! thanks!
However, I'm a little bit chickening out on jacking up the 911 using a portion of the engine. Is this the right spot the thread was suggesting...
I think I would rather Jack from this point (not the engine) and put the jack stands here as well. Well' that's just me - afraid to damage the engine or something :-)

The crossmember is a safer/better/preferred choice. And YES, a lot of folks are leery of using this part of the engine to lift (see pic below, copied from above link from Renntech)

I have personally used the jack point in the pic above is for a QUICKIE lift just so I can position the jack stands for the rear jack points. TIP: buy hockey pucks and use it to "cushion" the jack points.
