My transmission shifted funny when the vehicle is cold first at start up as if it was slipping. When I would start it start driving it in auto or manual mode the rpms would jump up and downshift while driving. I got tired of it and decided to drop the pan drain fluid install a new filter and gasket flush it twice and then refill back up. Now the transmission operates even worse, when the car is warm it shifts up and down........... some one with the same issues? should I be looking at different transmission? 90K

Can I use friction additive oil? I think the previous owner already used it because the fluid was dark gray when I drained it.

 

I could be a bad shift sensor. But it sounds as though it's slipping so maybe a rebuild is in order.

 

Before the flush it would only do it when the car was cold the first 20 min of driving then it would shift somewhat normal now it shifts up down in 2-3.5K rpms as if the fuel pump was cutting out.

 

Now that does sound like a shift sensor, it's not reading the RPS correctly so it can't figure out what gear to be in. Try this, remove the negitive battery cable, hold the brake down to discharge any stored energy, wait about a minute, reconnect the cable, this will re-set the ECU and the electronics.
