Hi experts...

Looking at getting C4S at a local dealership and saw this intake mod in the engine compartment.

Does anyone know what mod is this and what does capping a vent in the airbox do?

Fabspeed makes this intake. Basically a more efficient version of the stock intake. It's a common mod.

 

Schnell intake... Removes the resonator for a better intake sound and slightly more efficient. I have one on my 2001 996.

 

Maxspeed also makes one, it's the one I have. More efficient air flow and better sound. It should be combined with a high efficiency air filter such as a BMC or H&K. Very common.
