Cooling Help
Cooling Help
I had a little accident and took my C4S into the dealer body shop for repair. The damage was on the left front. Got far enough in to make all the coolant leak out.
Just got my car fixed. While I was at it, I also upgrade to the Ruf bumper cover. I think they seriously screwed up the thing somewhere.
1. The new radiator is silver.
2. The plastic air duct look like it's from a C2 or something.
3. The cooling fan will come on while I'm going down the road. I could hear it blowing.
4. The coolant temp guage will get to the right of 180 or about 200 F.
I am going to get them to give me back the air ducts. But my quesiton is, could they have messed up on the radiator to make the fan come on that often? Even when the car is moving. Ambient temp was a indicated 87.

On my C2, my temperature gauge always reads slightly past 180. At first, I thought it was a bit odd and perhaps a problem, but I was told that it was normal (never goes beyond that)...I haven't thought twice about it since. Unless others know that this is a problem, I don't think it's an issue.
BTW - That bumper looks great.

The 3.4 runs hotter than the 3.6, why? No clue, but I thought the exact same thing until my dealer ended up replacing fans and checking the cooling system completely. I would say there is a problem. Ruf bumper looks VERY HOT...
