Source for LED Headlight parking bulb?

I do not know what it would be called but the bulb that is in the headlight assembly that comes on when parking lights are turned on that looks really dim and dull.
I would like to get rid of that and replace with an led bulb, anyone have a good source that they have tried and a part number you could recommend?

thanks,
B

T10 LED. All over ebay. Just make sure it's pure white color.

Buy a lot of 10 of them. They burn out just about every 6 months. I just bought 10 for $7.99 including shipping. They do look amazing.

Superbrightleds.com was recommended in an earlier thread and I went there. The pins on the bulbs are at 12 and 6 o'clock and do not necessarily line up with the config on the OEM bayonet fixture base, solution is to squash one of them slightly with pliers, and then jam it in. I experimented with a couple types. There are lots of others too - all of them are cheap.

Interesting... I've had mine installed for over one year and they are still going strong. I don't recall where I bought them...

Also interesting and confusing is that i did look up on ebay sites to find out that the T10 bulbs do not fit my year car of a 2002 c2 cabrio? Another post has the part being a BA9 bulb...which one would be the correct one to purchase? Thanks.

That's one solution, but a better one is to buy the correct bulbs. SuperBrightLEDs has both the straight and offset types.

The bulb you're talking about for the front parking lamp (inside the headlamp housing) is the wedge bulb, which is a type 168 or 194 bulb. It is not the kind that has a round base (as shown in Nikas' photo). I replaced mine with with PIAA Xtreme White Plus (4300 kelvin color temp) bulbs, which I purchased from my local Auto Barn store (also on line). These have a nice Xenon-like color to them (not bluish like many LEDs).

Note that while LED wedge bulbs are available, they are not recommended for high heat locations (next to headlamps) such as this. Those who have installed these are replacing them frequently due to heat issues.

Here's a photo of my car with the original bulb on the driver's side and PIAA bulb on the passenger side.

Thanks for all the info. I am not sure if i should go with the BA9s or the BAX9s base now because of the heat issue and frequency of replacing because of that.
I will research this new PIAA bulb to see if it is compatible with the MK2 set up on my car and i guess the cost of them as well..

If your car is equipped with Litronics the parking bulb is BAX9s.

Yes, I have Litronic or Xenon headlights and the parking light bulb is very small inside the headlamp housing.

Would the bulb to purchase be BAX9X or one of the other bulbs like BAX9S, BA9s ? Thanks..
