Ok so my buddy has a 2001 C2 and its smoking very bad. I want to pull it apart but the question I have is has anyone run into this? Headgaskets or cracked head? Just wanna ask first

 

Hopefully it is an AOS failure instead... much easier to fix. How does the coolant and oil look, any intermix?

 

No but the coolant is down

 

It is very likely that it is the AOS, I have bot replaced mine yet, but based on the reading I have done an AOS failure is quite common. I find my car will have white smoke if I drive it hard and turn it off with in a few minutes, then when I go back to start the car 8 hrs later there is a cloud of smoke.

+2. AOS. When mine went it leaked coolant. That likely explains why the coolant is down.

 

I get white smoke after car sits overnight. I thought it was just normal condensation in the exhaust burning off
