Reason I asked, it's because I charge my battery once a while with the trickle charger and charges it from the front (main battery connections) and I leave the front hood open while it's charging.
It gets annoying having to unplug the light from the harness every time.
Thanks!

I am not sure how long the light stays on. I normally unplug my light if the lid will be up long. I have wired a plug for my maintainer and I open my hood, feed the maintainer cord between the windshield and hood. I plug it in there and then close the hood. I use a Schumacher Maintainer. It has been great for years. My Sunday morning driving insurance
I'm pretty sure the front trunk lamp turms off after a 1/2 hour and the rear engine lid lamp never turns off. To conserve battery power, I replaced my front trunk bulb and rear engine lid bulbs with 39 mm LED "festoon" bulbs from www.superlumination.com.
Another alternative is to install a rocker switch by cutting into the plastic trunk panel next to the trunk lamp so you can turn it off when you want. Radio Shack has some black ones that should be easy to install.
