Aftermarket Front Bumper Question--those with them check in

Did you guys have to remove the stock aluminum bumper support to install your aftermarket bumper? THis detail slipped past me when I purchased mine from Floriday Dismantler and now it seems I'm stuck with having to do this if it is going to fit at all!? I'm more than sure that this is a bad idea in terms of protecting the car and may void insurance if I take a hit in the front of the car?

ANY SGGESTIONS/EXPERIENCE with this?? I think I'm SCREWED on this as the return policy for the company is VERY restrictive....

Anyone deal with the Florida Dismantler GT3 front bumper? What did you guys do!?

According to their ad, it says you have 14 days to contact the seller for a refund or exchange plus you pay return shipping. If you're within that time slot you should be able to return it for a refund.

My TechArt front bumper required me modifying the Aluminum Support. SEARCH it up and you'll see a bunch of guys have had to do that. I just trimmed down both corners which did not compromise the safety or support it provides. Once I refitted the bumper it fit like a glove. I guess maybe its a common thing on aftermarket front bumpers.

Same here. Use a reciprocating saw first, then use a file or grinder to smooth the cuts. For the NRAuto TA front bumper, the radiator airflow ducts also need to be cut. Something I wasn't willing to do a few years ago. This winter, I will be sacrificing them with the knife, because I think engine cooling will be much better by directing the air.

Per the Ebay link: A 30% restocking fee applies to all returnable items that are in resellable condition << ouch!

Can you simply paint over the support with black paint?

I had to cut the support for the bumper to fit. However, it wasn't too difficult. Took maybe thirty minutes. I also had to remove some of the foam. If you're having doubts about the process, then you can buy a used support and cut one up, and if you don't like it, then you can bolt the OEM one back on.

Hmm, I am using the GT3 Style polyurethane bumper from Extreme Dimensions. No modification of the bumper support or radiator ducts required.
