Rear glass weather stripping

The bottom lefthand corner of my rear glass weatherstripping has begun popping up and out of the trough for a while. I want to glue it down somehow, but don't want it to look like hell. Has anyone done this before? What do you recommend? Is this an easy DIY or body shop task? New seal? TIA.

Ok, if this were me what I would do is replace the seal, and here is why. If you just "fill in" the sealant it's not going to be a good fit. Not really a DIY but trust me worth the $, get a glass company to do it. Call your local Stealer or Indy and ask who they use and contract direct.

Not sure where you are but if you want me to find out just ask.

It's a very simple job to replace. The part number is 996-545-521-01. I did mine recently and it took 30 minutes including thoroughly cleaning, polishing and waxing around the exposed bodywork after removing the trim.

The trim itself simply clips into a metal track that runs around the outside of the screen. It's not integral to the screen at all. The part was about £40 here in the UK and that was from the local Porsche dealer.

Thanks. That part number has been superseded to OEM-99654552104 (approx $76, plus shipping). I'm thinking a bead of glue would definitely be more cost effective and immediately rewarding. Just not sure what glue to use.

If it's only a cosmetic problem any type of silicone that is clear and waterproof should work. Tape it down until it dries and remember to pull the tape off in a direction that won't pull it back up.
