convertible top getting cut when closing

i notice a small almost tear on my convertible top this past weekend. i looked everything over very closely and cannot find anything binding or loose. as the top retracts the canvas folds over the latch/lock mechanism at the rear of the car and this is where it is getting clamped on and cut. ive ownes this for a litttle over a year now and this never appeared to be happening. any ideas why and how to fix it. A plastic flap should flip up to guide the canvas under the latch. Did your flap go missing?

The part is about $25 or so.

just had it in at the shop for a few things and an adjustment was made to the top. the flap is not there but there is a spring that looks like it should be connected to something. this is a well respected shop in NE ohio i will give an update after i contact them. it was there before they worked on it, now it isnt and now the top is cut. hopefully they will step up to the plate and take responsibility and remedy the situation.
