What were the changes from 2000 -2001 on the C2? I know the Cup holder and the trunk/Hood release switches. Anything else? Alcantara headliner started in 2000 correct?

 

2001 996 differences from 2000 966

1. Hood/Trunk Release Switch (Electric)
2. Slide-Out Cup Holders
3. Ambient Lighting in Door Handles/ Dome light/ Ignition
4. 3 Spoke Steering Wheel/ Gold Crest Standard
5. Upgraded Trunk Carpeting

Didn't they also change the option of traction control with LSD to PSM(no lsd) or was that 99 to 2000?

Per 9/05 Excellence

All 2000 Carreras got E-Gas and PSM was offered as an option across the range. Power rose slightly from the previously stated 296 to 300 at 6800rpm. The tiptronic transmission was changed for 2000 to allow manual inputs in the auto mode. Other changes for 2000 incuded stiffer rubber tie-tod bushings and increased friction for the ball joints to improve straight line stability. Interior plastic parts are painted with a color matched "soft-look" finish. Faux suede was used for the headliners in coupes. For 2001 , interior orientation lights provided illumnation for the interior, center dash area, ignition switch, and door latches were added. The front trunk got upgraded carpeting and remote access from the ignition key.
