Wind blocker compatibility?

I am a new 996 owner. It is a 1999. I would like to get a wind blocker, but have questions concerning fittment. Pelican lists 2 part numbers - one for the 2wd 996 99-04 and one for the 4wd 99-04. I called a Porsche dealer and he said the only thing he can get now is a 997 windblocker and that they worked for all 996 & 997; Is this true? Any windblocker works for all 1999-20??

THanks,
GP

I can't say for sure, but there are usually screens available both on national craigslist and ebay.

i'm sure they will work for both 996 and 997. It has two spring loaded pins on each end and the back slides in where the the top of the rear seat would be. I got mine off eBay,keep an eye out I see them on there all the time. Paid $250 for mine.

The narrow body cars do not use the same wind deflector as the wide body cars. Which is the reason we have a few different selections on our website.

Let me know if you have any other questions. We will be happy to help.
