Correct badge position

Hello everyone. I'm installing a 911 badge this evening and wondered if someone could tell me the correct vertical position for it. This can be as measured from the bottom of the engine cover (trunk lid) to the bottom of the numbers.

I've already removed the Carrera badge (months ago) so I don't have a reference point.

Appreciate it. Someone with a 40th Anniversary would definitely have the answer.

The inner corner of the middle number 1 is your mid point of the emblem. Measure from both sides of the trunk lid to find the center of the width and draw a vertical line with chalk or something that will come off easily. Then line up the inside corner of the center number 1 from the emblem with your marked line and it should be properly centered.

Great thanks. The only other thing I need is the vertical placement. I think it sits lower than center from a north/south perspective. Worst case is I can compare it to pictures and find the right spot for it. Some people mount it high (just under the spoiler).

I've seen it in both the high and low positions. In the 911 for the Milenium edition I believe it was positioned higher, closer to the engine vents. In the 40th anniversary I believe it was lower, closer to the bumper. I personally prefer it lower (see attached), but either way you can't go wrong. Post some pics once you have affixed it.

It is your car, place it where you like. Since the 911 isn't "correct" anyway you can play with your preferences. I have replaced badges/emblems on many of my Porsches and go with what looks best.

No question do as you please! however post facelift carerras badge positioning was different than 1998/2001 models and you can click the option box if you wanted a 911 badge instead of carerra badge,it was a factory option.enjoy!

Here is the first photo. I went dead center (left to right) and slightly below center (up/down) to insure it sat flat against the ridge. I'm happy with the result. Compliments the black front badge nicely. Will put up more pictures latter. Thanks everyone for your help.
