Don't be jealous. Just cause ya'll can't do it up there.

If that manual holder never existed or has been removed you could buy another holster and use large self tapping screws to secure it under the dash (where the guy in the video had his). No one can see the screws or the holster because of the steering column. When you stop, whip it from that holster into the one on your hip or up the nostril of the BAD BOY at your window and say. "Now go change your pants, Dyu wanna piece of me or make my day PUNK". Or whatever you cops say in a dodgy situation . hahaha

Hey CBADtt, I'm not law enforcement but I played a cop in my high school play.. so I know a few things on the subject. The first is you can conceal carry with a CCW. Tough to obtain in Southern California but doable depending on the county that you live in. If you lived in say Kern County, (have a house in Mammoth?) you would be able to get one fairly easily providing you can "convince" the folks at the Sheriffs dept. that you reside there most of the year. Perhaps a donation to the Sheriffs reelection fund? I have it from a reliable source that the OC Sheriff lady is issuing if you can prove that you really need it. As for carrying without one, you are in violation for just having it in the cab of your car, loaded or not. To transport a firearm legally in California, it must be unloaded an in a locked case in the trunk of your car or behind the seat in a truck. Soooo if you're gonna go, go big! Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

Just a bit more info. I'm 23 years in the Alarm industry here in SoCal so I keep my ear to the ground when it comes to bad guys doing bad things. There are neighborhoods here that I wouldn't be dragged into. There are other's here that I wouldn't think about going into without my gun right between the right bolster and my thigh. Getting it out from under my coat would take to long. SoCal is weird. You can be on the nicest street in Beverly Hills and 3 miles later you're making sure your doors are locked. 3 miles after that you're wondering how to get the F out of there!

Thanks for the info. As far as "getting out of there quick", at least you're in a fast car.

We have something called the 2nd amendment to the Constitution. The OP has a right to carry. Some may not want to and that is fine, but the OP was simply asking for advice on a way to mount the firearm in the car.

An incident two weeks ago reaffirmed the need to be vigilant at all times. Everyone makes choices.

+1 for the carry in a carrera...wouldn't do it any other way...too many crazies out there...most of which prey on 'rich p-car owners'

In my 996 I put it in the side door folding storage (part name slipping my mind)---and I did contemplate the owners manual holder a million times...BUT from the seated position I couldn't comfortably reach there consistently

This has been an interesting thread! As for concealed carry, If you are going to go, go big... meaning if you are going to carry a firearm illegally, you might as well carry it on your person. If an officer pulls you over and you remove it from your waste band and stuff it under the seat, you are in no worse a predicament than if it was there all along, so you might as well of had it easily accessible to begin with. How likely are you, as a non drunk driver or sketchy person likely to have your car searched on a routine traffic stop anyway? Creating a gun hiding spot in your car is a whole different conversation than having a firearm readily accessible. Right.

[QUOTE=blrmkr;3984836]We have something called the 2nd amendment to the Constitution. The OP has a right to carry. [QUOTE]

Unfortunately, each state has their own rules re: the right to carry. Here in CA, open carry is not allowed although some groups still congregate at local coffee shops with a weapon strapped to their hips (unloaded) with the magazine in their pocket. For some non-carriers it's nerve wracking because you don't know if the guy is 5150 with a Kimber on his hip. Concealed carry in CA is allowed if you are active LE, retired LE with permission, or possess a civilian CCW. Placing your weapon in your vehicles glove box, hidden underneath the drivers seat, or tucked up under your dash is considered a concealed weapon. The CA Vehicle Code has sections relating to weapons inside your car......withing reach, weapon and ammo separated, etc. So before anyone decides to carry concealed on their person, or in their vehicle, you should be aware of your states laws before you indulge in what you think are your rights per the 2nd Amendment.

I am in full agreement with your comments and understand that every state/city has their own laws. I was pointing out to our friends up north that we have certain rights at the federal level. It goes without saying that anyone considering CCW needs to understand state and city laws which can impose further restrictions.

I agree with you 100%. My comment was not meant to belittle your previous comment. If any offense was taken I whole heartedly apologize.
