RobynC 996SC to a TT?
Robyn,
Why are you looking to go from your SC'd 996 to a TT? The reason I ask is my 01 996 will be paid off in about 12 months. At that time I am either going to supercharge it and put in a different suspension or by a 01 or 02 996 turbo. I have always wanted a 911 Turbo but I am intrigued by superchargers, RWD, less weight and I think it would cost me less to just modify mine.
I appreciate your feedback!
Thanks,
Kevin

Hi Kevin -
I'm not getting rid of my C2 by any means, simply adding another Pcar to the garage. I am at the end of my list here with regard to big mods to do on the Carrera...so what's left to do? But, by another car, and I feel so left out of the fun with all the cool things one can do with a TT. Let's face it, the TT's are dropping in price and I can pick up a clean 2001-2002 for less than $80k. You only live once right?
After that, Ferrari.

Robyn,
Thanks for the reply. When you get the TT could you give us some comparos between that and the sc'd 996? By the way 2 p-cars then a ferrari; you are my new hero!

I'd jump to a Ferrari since a TT only beats a SC in reliability and not much in performance. I like my 996 but I'd be in love with a 360, CS or 550 - one of which will be my next car. BTW, 550 can be had for $90k, got gobs of power and run 4.2sec. Sure it's a heavier car but it'll still bust the doors down. It's a real value compared to other modern f car.

Robyn, go for a Ferrari or consider one before make a decision on a TT.
I always thought the Ferrari is just a over price Porsche (a lot of people think Porsche is a over price of some other cars). I thought my P car is as well as a Ferrari and with better reliability. Until I had a chance to drive one of the 360, then I realized why people spent that extra 100K for a Ferrari. What I can say it, there is different between the 100K to 200K car. If I had the extra money, the extra 100K to go with the Ferrari is worth it.

Ferrari instead of Porsche?
Robyn, don't you wonder why you can buy used...pardon me....pre-owned Ferrari's all day long with 5K miles on the clock?? Try to find a Porsche of the same vintage and you will see that Porsches are being driven instead of being parked in front of expensive watering holes and the like. A friend of mine just sold a 355 (1999 I believe) with less than 8k miles on the clock. Sounds to me more like an ornament that belongs under the Christmas tree or near the fire place...or something like that.. rather than a purpose build weapon..and drive the living daylights out of it. Maybe rebuilding Ferrari engines is somewhat expensive??
