Need a quick answer

I just bought a 1999 Porsche 911 Cabriolet . . . Do all of these cars come with a tow loop for the front bumper? Also, what are the normal tools, like a jack, etc. that would normally come with a '99 911? Fighting with a dealership/salesman. Larry

Take a look at eBay. An OEM "emergency hack tools set kit" is selling for $53.99 BIN. Paramount_Auto. OEM 29421. Doesn't include jack. Otherwise best to walk over to the parts manager at the dealer. Use their pricing against them . Good luck!

PS can't imagine the tow hook being optional. If you have a cut out on the front bumper if demand a hook.

Since it's a 14 year old car, it probably comes with what it came to the dealership with. Unless, you're paying $30,000. You can find the pieces you seek on Ebay, Craigslist, and the forum classifieds.

Most used car dealers have you sign some sort of 'as-is, no assumptions' paperwork at closing to protect themselves in this exact situation...

Typically, they say something like:

"This car comes with exactly what it currently has in it, plus any additional items listed HERE_______. Manuals, tools, jacks, mats, extra keys or other items are not included if they are not in the vehicle or listed above. Check for yourself before buying, sign after you know what you are getting, don't come complaining to us later"

(Their legalese is usually a bit more refined, but the spirit is the same...)

The tow hook is not optional. Mine came with a full compliment of tools, air pump, jack, headlight tool..etc If you have a locking lug nut as I do it should also have a special adapter for that. Since the car is a '99 previous owners may have lost them, but fear not, you can get what you need easily through e-bay and other sites as mentioned above.

You may want to remove your street address from your location.
