# 5 misfire

# 5 misfire

changed out plugs and coil packs now getting misfire on #5 cylinder what gives maybe bad coil?

Was enging running ok prior to installing new plugs and coils? Did you check spark plug gap before you installed them? I know some people who assume they come pre-gapped from the box. Re-check connections to the coils. If these items are the only parts you replaced, I would have to guess that #5 plug could be bad, coil could be defective, or a connection problem. (wire, connector, etc)

Assuming she ran great before the work was done, swap the coil with #6 and see the the misfire follows the coil.

Likely that the coil wire isn't snapped in all the way. Happened to me when I did my plugs. It looks right, but will come right off if you tug on it.

Not yet have some bad weather soon as it clears up will check connection on coil or maybe switch#5 &#6
