Gas hit $3.69 for 93 oct.

Damn..........my local Exxon went from $2.79 last week up to $3.69 tonight here on Long Island. If driven like a girl, the 996 gets ok gas mileage...........but we all like to drive it hard. I sometimes think there is a hole in my gas tank they way it sucks it down. Gonna start driving my Cooper S more often. What are the Gas prices in other spots around the country?

In the Eastern part of the country, prices have gone as high as $5 per gallon already as a result of Katrina. Economist is predicting prices will hit as high as $3.25 per gallon the rest of the country by this weekend. I'm already seeing $3.15 in several stations in the East Bay. IMO, there's no question the oil industry is gouging the consumers. Making every possible excuses they can come up with.

price of gas

In Sweden, ur gas prices start at about 6$ per gallon (regular/low octane).

(Porsches in europe are tuned o run on high octane fuel (at least 98 octane ROZ/RON, which is more expensive)

Price hikes were announced this morning as a result of Katrina.

Just so you know...

It's not the oil companies price gouging, but the individual gas stations, I saw ranges yesterday of over $1.00 and some were the same petrol company(i.e. Mobile) so it's the owners of the stations and not big oil.

The problem we have is the refineries were shut down and damaged and we had limited capacity to begin with since the environmental nuts won't let us build any new ones.

gas station by the office starts @ $2.69/gal for 93 octane in the AM, $3.49 by 2 pm , 4.99 and 9/10 by 5 pm. most gas station were charging $3.99 for 93 octane.

there's nothing we can do about it except *****. bend over, grease up and hope the gas co/station will be gentle.

Gas here at the Exxon is $2.85 for 93 octane. I guess it's time for me to fire up the old 600RR.

Strange how the prices seem to go up and the station didn't have a delivery of gas. They are still working on the same stuff they were selling for 2.50 a gallon and now is 3.50 or more.

Price gouging plain and simple by the gas stations.

Here in NJ we have a working refinery and the prices still went up even though we are not getting gas from the broken pipeline or looking for oil from the south.

Yeah, but isn't it funny how faast the go up and how slowly they come down. It's wierd how it's the oil futures that are going up yet the price of the oil at the stations are going up immediately. The gas currently a these stations had to be from weeks ago, right? BTW, my first post. Been here for months but couldn't post.
