I am probably due for a new driver's side window regulator. Considering a DIY, I did a dry run short of removing the widow regulator. I then reassembled the door panel. To check the wiring, I took the window down via auto window switch. It would not go back up. An odd thing occurred when I opened the door, and pressed the auto window switch. The window went up. Has anyone had this experience in the past?

I would check all 5 of your microswitches to make sure they're making proper contact and not shorting out.
