I was working on replacing the console of my 996. I put handbrake back in place, locked down 3 of the 4 bolts then lifted the handle to tighten the bolt under the handle. Well, apparently I don't know my own strength and actually broke the frame of the handle as I lifted it. I have the carbon fiber handle but bought a leather based one as a replacement. Is there a way to swap the handles? It looks like there is one major pin/connector (pictured) but I can't tell if this is compression fit or screw in. Has anyone done this and if so how did you do it?

Check DCAUTO as they sell piece parts, also check with the Pelican.

 

Hit it with a big hammer and find out. I would swap the actual handle piece off the end, thus not understanding previous issue.
