Correct Tire Width for Different Offset Wheel

Spent many hours looking for this answer online, but recommendations have varied based on suspension heights, offsets and many opinions. I have a 1999 MKI NB 996 with OEM suspension and am looking for the right size tire for the 54mm offset wheel. I recently purchased a set of GT3 wheels with rear dimensions of 18x10 and a 54mm offset.
I read others have successfully used 295 width tires with no rubbing on the OEM offset rims. Hoping a 295 width tire will fit with the 54 offset, but with the additional outward offset dimension am not sure if that size will clear the unrolled fender.
Thank you for your experienced recommendations.
One more thing. Pictures would be great!
Cheers!

Do you think a 295 width tire will fit on a 10x18 wheel? It sounds too big. I am running 295 width tires on my C4S on an 11x18 wheel.

I'm running the 285 width on a stock 18x10 rear wheel. I don't think the added 10 mm would make much of a difference at all.

Apparently, the 295/30 fits without any rubbing on the 18x10 with stock offset. Here's one of the threads:

IMO I would be extremely careful running a tire that's too wide for what the rim was intended for. I could create too much roll or flex in the sidewall while cornering.

This topic has to have been covered a million times.

mk1 mk2 doesn't matter 295 30 18 tires fit 18x10 wide wheels
aftermarket wheel factory wheels doesn't matter 18x10 is perfectly fine 295 30 18

Will the offset of 54mm fit your car? Like you posted, depends on ride height and camber.
If you have stock suspension YES it will fit. Even if you have 0 camber(who does that though)
If you have lowered suspension yes Most likely it'll fit unless you are really lowered and have 0 camber(same...who does that).
54mm offset will most likely fit without rolled fenders even if you're slammed but have at least a -1 camber(which i don't know why you wouldnt' have more that -1 camber)

1999 C2 NB. Front wheels are 18x8.5 with a 52mm offset. Rear wheels are 18x10 with a 54mm offset. Pirelli tires are 235/40 up front and 285/35 in the rear. Stock suspension and no rubbing

i had those wheels at one point....

just curious why did you go with 35 series on the rear? It just makes the diameter bigger slowing you down...if you had traction issues, i'd understand a larger sidewall but a NA 996 doesn't have enough torque to be spinning them...
