Lets say you're following about two to three car lengths behind what looks to be a 1996 or earlier Corvette. Open highway ahead. You're in my car, an '02 C2. The Corvette guns it and takes off.
Can you catch him? Assume that both cars are in good shape and that the 'Vette gets up to its maximum speed.
The first part actually happened. I was trailing a Corvette the other day and I assume he saw me and punched it. I have never seen a car get out and move like that. I eventually caught him a few miles down the road when he was forced to slow in traffic but I kept wondering if I could have caught him flat out. I'm not sure I could have since he was a few car lengths ahead at the start and by the time I recognized he had punched it a good second - second and a half had gone by. I love a spirited 100 mph romp as much as the next guy but he pulled away fairly easily and I chickened out.
His "AF" took over when he saw me a couple of cars behind him and he started driving like a real jerk - weaving in and out etc.
These guys always crack me up, especially when they start to do stupid things like weave.

True. I guess it is a pretty big assumption. Either that or I really underestimated my car's capabilities. The longer I drive it (going on two years now) the more I realize I need to learn how to properly "drive" it.
