stereo security code
so i hooked the battery to do some work on the car not realising the stereo is coded.

is there a way to figure this out? or a call to the dealer with the VIN?

thanks

ps 1999 911 factory stereo

Another popular place for the stealer to document the code is under the hood written in pencil on one of the stickers. That's where I found mine on my C2-- YMMV, KH

Now you have it, a good idea is to write it in the owners manual. Across the front page. That's what I did.

Mine was on the bottom of the ash tray. Always wondered what that number was for until I needed it one day - then it all made sense.
