Should I have replaced the surface with the cargraphic replacement heat shield?

Thanks!
Yes, the flywheel is likely made by Aasco & far cheaper to buy direct from them. Flywheel should also be inspected for signs of balancing! They are notoriously out of balance when new. So not only do they lack the vibration damping of the DMF, but usually the imbalance adds a vibration source. I would not run it on my car without balancing it.

Pull it out (it comes right off), straighten and push back in.

I have had several years on mine never any issues right out of the box.
