Be careful to not push the tube too far into the intake filter or you won't be able to take advantage of the built in velocity stack(not sure if new version have them) which contributes to better air flow and ultimately hp.
I just push in enough to clear both ends like 1/2" - 1"
1/2" on the right side is plenty to clear on mine.
The results:
1. Power increased by 15HP.
2. Top speed is now 200 MPH.
3. I am now 3 inches taller.
4. My IQ increased by ten points.
5. I now have approximately $975 less in my pocket, including installation.
...well, at least ONE of the above is true.
It sounds better from the inside. Perhaps a bit better throttle response above 3500.
I enjoy the appearance, and elimination of the clunky looking OEM air box.
Which is sufficient, for me.
Meanwhile, I can imagine that the other four things in the list resulted from installing a new dual air intake, as well.

Looks great! It does make some good power but maybe not quite the other four things!
Please let me know if you need anything else! I would be more than happy to assist you!
Glad you got it installed and all buttoned up Michael! Was a pleasure working with you, and we definitely appreciate the support and feedback!
Don't hesitate to reach out when you are ready for the next step

anyone had the decklid altered to fit another airduct like on the left hand side? if so any benefits?/gains achieved? as was planning to have this done
I guess ill be the contrarian (somewhat). I have the dual intake (wife got is for me as a birthday present when they first came out).
It looks beautiful, and it does sound great. But I would tell you the fit, documentation, and support all leave a lot to be desired.
First, mine came with zero documentation. Not a complex install, but a few things, like relo of SAI and the orientation of the mounting arm should have been documented for something that costs this much vs. me "figuring it out"
I solved the documentation and fit issues, thusly:
"Hello, Mr Mechanic? Here is a box of intake stuff. Please install it. Thank you."
Not as interactive, perhaps: But it works and it fits. To each his own.
If this is purely an aesthetic mod with marginal performance if any, why not go a 997 air box. I think they look the best and don't cost as much! Again, to each their own...

My thought is for anywhere close to $1k, why not get an exhaust instead for a real noise maker in addition to a few ponies. That's what I don't really understand. But like you said to each his own.

Because I live in a nice neighborhood, like the rest of us, and leave for work before 7A. If I wanted to have a 'noisemaker', I'd get a '74 Camaro with Glasspacks, or something.
And acquire the nickname of 'a**hole with the loud car', in my neighborhood.
Increased HP and better sound is readily achieved with new mufflers. I might get those, too. But I hear my vehicle from the inside, not the outside---and, let us be frank, 911s are hardly silent vehicles inside. I drove my Land Rover 150 miles today after garaging it for about three weeks, and the quiet therein after using my 996 as the DD was striking.
Altering the sound quality? Worth the money, speaking strictly for myself. Increased HP? Perhaps; perhaps not. I will never, EVER 'need' more horsepower, though it's entertaining to move up the real or implied number just for grins. Appearance? Better.
If loud and power are your only goals and you're short on cash, then mufflers alone are probably the way to go. They're not, and I'm not, so I started with the Fabspeed device. Happy car; happy customer. As pointed out by all, or nearly so: To each, his own.

I live in a nice neighborhood too but I could care less about what my neighbors think. It's not to be confused with lack of respect, which works both ways.
There are mufflers out there tat sound stock until you really get on it so this is a moot point anyways.
As for appearance, who is going to see the intake? Dunno about you but I don't just randomly pop my hood for strangers in the parking lot.
As for short on cash, I think your logic is backwards on that one as exhausts generally cost more than intakes. Go lookup the price of my Tubi mufflers then get back to me.
I like the "intricate Brazilian," is this off topic ?

This is mostly sound performance and aesthetics. I don't open my trunk enough to strangers to justify it. This mod is like babes that do a $300 intricate Brazilian wax on the bottom when only their bf will see it. Not that I would know...

Me. Which is all that matters, on my car.
And as annoying my neighbors is not useful, I make sure that my car does not intrude upon the respect that they deserve, and return in kind.
When I lived in Chicago (50 years), I didn't much care, either. Now, I live in a community where most of us know each other. Irritating one's neighbors is simply not done (particularly since we have the highest per capita rate of Concealed Carry permits of any community in the United States).
You're happy with your setup. I like mine. If it's a horsepower pi**ing contest, then: Feel free to win this one. Mazel tov.

Whatever works for you and as long as you're happy. No pissing contests needed, just differences of opinions with no wrong or rights.
Eurocupgt makes snorkels for these type intakes. Personally my dealing with them was not great, sent the intake back. They have a mounting tab on their "Y" pipe intake that attaches to one bolt on the left motor mount. It looked like a terrible design, the tab which is also carbon fiber did not survive shipping. However, the extended length dual snorkels were very good quality, not too mention twice as much cold air coming in and being forced into the two cones. IMO, if you utilize a "Y" pipe intake you should get the most out of it.
BTW, your engine bay looks great!
