If I could restart this thread I would call it the "Official Aero/Body Kit and Vendors Guide" and we could all just compile a list of different options and where to buy them.

All that aside, any 996 being sold on the used market will not be able to command the maximum if aftermarket FRP is used. The current landscape and demographic pool of buyers values unmolested original equipment more. Of course this can change in due time as this becomes more accessible to the younger crowd more and more.

I am looking to keep this out of insurance and so the cost will be out of pocket.

I have seen some stuff from Prior Design NA, Misha, and MA Shaw so far. Then there's Andy's Body Kits, which has great pricing and what I'm sure is the lowest quality product.

At the very least, I need a new front bumper and sides, but a full new aero kit would be cool. My car is a Mk1 C2. This is my first Porsche and it's rather new to me. I've only had it 3 months. I'm not very familiar with the choices that are out there.

If anyone can recommend some best bang for the buck options, I would be ever so grateful. Thank you in advance.
A good body shop may be able to repair your bumper. I had mine done after I hit a lawn chair on the Garden State Parkway. They repaired the bumper and repainted it for about $300. That was a few years ago and it still looks great.

I think it was about $1,100 for all five pieces (I'll check) a little over a year ago.

That's very reasonably priced. Did you do the install yourself or take it to a shop (paint as well?)?

I've also looked at these guys http://www.gruppetwo.com/?wpsc_produ...y=996996-turbo it's all FRP based on their "about us" page here : http://www.gruppetwo.com/?page_id=13 It all looks like good stuff and lots of different styles (I prefer the less flashy stuff myself). I haven't heard them mentioned by anyone else though...

It was a Black Friday /Cyber Monday sale. The shop charged $900 for installing and painting the parts + polishing the entire car to ensure the old paint was up to the new one. As I mentioned before, the rear wing's base that replaces the original spoiler was hard to fit. IMO they did a great job.

Those pics on the Gruppe Two page are the same ones on the GT3Tek page, so I believe they are resellers.

Gruppe Two claims to manufacture all their own stuff (no "dura-flex" either...all FRP) http://www.gruppetwo.com/?page_id=13 You're right about the photo of the rear "aero wing" though, the photo looks the same - that doesn't really tell us who has or took the original though...Interesting stuff

Check the pics for the rear diffuser on both websites:
http://www.gt3tek.com/products/gt3apron.htm
http://www.gruppetwo.com/?wpsc-produ...umper-diffuser

The model car seems to be very popular.... Someone's claim is a little off.
