convertible roof front hook

Hi i have a 1998 c2 cab and when putting my roof up following some sunshine the roof got through its cycle about 90 percent to where the hook comes out ready to latch on front window but it didnt. Instead it stayed in and now roof stuck. Front is about 4 to 6 inches from window and rear clam shell is open also about 6 inches.
Roof wont open or close.
Ive tried reving engine whilst pressing button. Ive tried using door key.i have checked all fuses in drivers foot well. I have a basic durametric software which says no roof related faults.
Wondered if anyone has any ideas as car is a bit venerable on front drive.
