Door Handle NOT Cooperating
Door Handle NOT Cooperating
I have a 1999 C2 with about 98K miles. Recently, the door handles (mostly the driver’s side) requires a double pull to actually get the door to open. It locks and unlocks via the key remote with no problem, and the inside door handles work perfectly. However, when I pull the outside driver’s side handle once to its limit, the door does not open. I have to pull the handle then release slightly and then pull again to make the door open. Has anyone experienced this? Wondering what the specific part is that may need adjustment or changing. Thanks and cheers.
Forgot to mention that when I lift the handle after unlocking it the window drops as expected, but does not open until the handle is slightly released and pulled up again. When the door has been left unlocked the handle works normally.

There could be something wrong with the locking mechanism. One of the big failure points of modern cars are the small switches located inside the power lock assemblies. These switches get a lot of use, and when they wear out, they can cause all sorts of problems. So this is where I would start.
