Van C2 Cab is infamous around these parts
Help a Newbie..

I have read that the air box from a 997 fits in a 996. My question is, does the air box top off a 3.6l 997 fit the bottom of a 3.6l 996 air box bottom?
I can get the top for free, just have to pay shipping. I would obviously like the answer to be yes..lol
Thanks

Unfortunately from what I have read the top will not fit the 996 bottom. Someone has asked before somewhere.

Whilst they use the same filter the top and bottom designs of the 996/997 are different.

For me, the 997 airbox does look awesome im torn between keeping my car original and using all 996 factory components and using a really good looking airbox!

Who the heck is gonna look in your engine bay except you?

That's like a married women getting an intricate Brazilian wax job down there along with a nice tatoo that no one will see except her hubby who probably doesn't care anyways. Too much effort for what it is and not worth it IMO.

Of course everyone is entitled to buy their car presents.

My $.02

Agreed, but damn does it look good...
It's the silver lettering that gets me!

I've come to the conclusion that I'd prefer to keep it standard though. I'll get a 997 eventually.

Be aware that you may need to use your 996 snorkel (from deck lid to airbox) if your car had the secondary air pump and you don't want to relocate it.

What i'd like to know is if the Helmholtz resonator valve/vacuum line thats in the Carrera S/3.8L airbox can be hooked up to work in the 996?!

I got bored with my K&N so I painted it red. Looks much color. Added a brake caliper decal as well.
