Cracked Oil Filler Tube

I could find anything specific about symptoms on cracked oil filler tubes. Has anyone had one before? Does this create a vacuum leak affect? Can it cause the engine to misfire and stumble at idle?

I noticed there is oil residue around the accordion part and looks fresh right around the center part of the accordion part of the oil filler tube. Any experiences to share would be helpful.

Found mine cracked today. I'm told it's part of the vac system. I JB welded it and taped it up while waiting on the new one. I have a rough idle and think that may be a small part of it.

Holy cow that took a long time changing out the oil filler tube. I took out the air intake box, throttle body, and the plastic t-pipe. I spent so much time trying to wiggle out the alternator with no success. So I ended up just perching the alternator up a bit to have the 8mm socket and extension go straight down. I did it by feel only. Could not see a damn thing with the alternator still there.

The oil filler tube had a pin hole on the accordion piece. Not even 1mm wide round. It was created from too much rubbing when I had my K&N air intake system. I will upload a picture next time.

Started up the car and LOL still the same rough idle and only way to keep the engine running is by giving it some gas. Once I let go of the throttle it just dies. Nothing has changed.

Hmmm, have you checked the spark plugs and coils? Check the AOS and ensure the MAF is clean. Also, try disconnecting the battery for about 20 minutes, then re-connect and drive it. This resets the computer and it will learn your driving style.
