Rear "Center" Light Bar

This may be blasphemy, so please don't throw stones, I just curious.

Does anyone make (or has anyone made) something that lights up the entire rear tail light panel on the Carrera models (specifically the 996 era cars)? Just looking at it you would think the entire area would light up, but I did a quick search and no one seems to have done it... at least that I could find. Since people seem to have no fear of customizing these cars, I would have thought that an LED panel would be out there. As I stated at the start, it's just a question, so please don't kill me for asking.
Thanks

Knight riders K.I.T.T car instantly sprang to mind however might work as the 3rd or even 4th brake light with a few LEDs installed. Or even scrollin text programable by the driver E.G "my other car is a porsc......oh wait"

Personally I say leave well alone although it's a matter of individual choice and taste.

Nope, I won't flame you for asking because I've often had the same question rolling around in my head too, just out of curiosity of course

I always wondered why they didn't light up either, I think it would look great, Porsche missed the boat on that one.

Maybe lighting technology wasn't good enough at the time the car was made; it would have required incandescent bulbs mounted behind the strip, intruding into the engine compartment. Porsche did figure it out though; the strip is illuminated with LED light on the 991 C4S.

Yeah... that's what sparked my interest in the "what if" scenario. If someone were to come up with an LED version for the 996 (or other 99X) cars, pairing it with the LED tail lights that are already being made, I think that combo would look fantastic. Somebody make these...

Love the idea of a Bulletin Board of LEDs where you could put whatever message you wanted. It could get some unwanted attention though. Might be worth it...

Brings a whole new meaning to "texting while driving".
