Question What are the deepest lips on the rear of your car???

I have 19" HRE 545r and have a 3" lip, which actually measures 2 1/2" from the outside of the lip towards the screws.

Is there any wheel mgr. that will allow a 4" to 5" lip on the rear for a NARROW body 996???

If so, can you please submit pics.

You know the porsche engineers/BBS specifically designed the wheels to to deliver the load /handle lateral stress under hard cornering with the spokes as flush as possible with the rim face for maximum strength.

I like the large lip as well but I did hear they also bend easier. Anyway Zoom, your car looks great as is.

Robert,

do you have scratches on the dish? I would think it would be pretty susceptible to scratches from road rocks flying around

Is this what you're talking about? This is my rear wheel with 5" lip but now the center is painted black. However, I'm not sure how it would look with a narrow body as my car is a TT with a customized widebody as well. Vince at Iforged made the lips for me and so far they hold up great and no chips or scratches either.

The most you can get is about 3" as the narrow body requires a higher offset than a Turbo. We can get a full 3" rear lip by using an aggressive 51mm offset on a 19X11 Work wheel. See my website Gallery section or give me your email and I will send over pictures.

RENNWORK,
I would consider new wheels vs. a wide body and I would like a deeper lip on the rear wheels, but i'm not sure if it is worth the cost to install a wide body.

The wheel above is the Exact lip that I would like on my car, but I understand that the offset is an issue. WHAT CAN I DO??? There is always new technology changing the styles and I look forward to the deep dish days.

I had a BMW 5 series a couple of years ago and there were no deep dish wheels for the car, but now, Sh*t you can alomost wash your clothes in those lips. I had 19" Hartage Classic with the M5 front spoiler, blah blah,

I would appreciate if you would send the info on the deeper lips to my e-mail

Impossible to go any bigger with the offset limitations. Go widebody conversion or get a used TT cab. Although that's either way, that's a pile of cash to get another inch or two lip on the rear wheels.

Dog,
I know, spending that kind of cash to gain an extra 1" DOES NOT make sense especially when you are expenting your second daughter in Feb. 06. Are you planning on going to the Cars for the Cure this upcoming year???

Attached is what HRE calls there 3" lip

You can fit a 5" lip or more on a narrow body 996 without any problem. All you need to do is raise the car up an additional 3" over stock height with longer springs so when your springs compress over bumps the tires won't tear into the quarterpanels.
