clutch issues

So I recently changed out my IMS bearing. All went well with that but I also put a spec stage 1 clutch from pelican parts in. Ever since, I've had clutch issues. First, the engagement point is millimeters off the floor. It shouldn't be that low. Second, the gear box feels super notchy into and out of gears. It ultimately feels like there isn't enough travel in the peddle to fully disengage the clutch. I bled about 2 quarts of SRF through the system(with the peddle held down). Tonight I put a new slave cylinder in and got no where with my problem. It seems to get worse the more I drive it. Running out of ideas. Does anyone have any more?

It reads like you have exhausted possible explanations from outside the bell housing. But you must be sure you have properly bled the clutch hydraulic system. I know from experience if this is not right clutch action and shifting is noticeably affected.

You might try a full brake fluid bleed then follow with a clutch fluid bleed. This is to ensure you indeed have exhausted all possible explanations from outside the bell housing.

If the bleed/flush doesn't help, then it would appear the only path open to you now is to drop the transmission and check the clutch hardware and installation.

The causes could be a mis-installation of the hardware -- the release bearing can be installed incorrectly at least in some models.

Another possible explanation is perhaps the wrong clutch hardware was supplied.

I recently did a complete brake bleed and got very small bubbles out doing the change. Then I was advised to do a clutch bleed. The nipple of the clutch is a PITA to get too but I eventually got small bubbles out of the clutch line. Afterwards I felt the clutch pedal was now higher from the floor as it engages. Actually feels much better and smoother action than it was. The brakes come on as soon as I press the pedal. I would suggest (as Macster advises) you bleed the clutch completely using the motive power bleeder as I did. I went over board and bled the clutch of at least half a pint of fluid (it's cheap enough) to make sure I had it all changed. Even though the fluid was very clean I did actually see small bubbles in the line for a minute or so which really surprised me. I would suggest you bleed the clutch line again. Good luck.
