any tricks to removing gearshift ****

have an 01 without a set screw have had the **** off in the past but that was before the stroke , can't move it at all any tricks to get it off , this is the one with the rubber washer

I have heard you just pull it up and off, in saying that I too haven't been able to remove it!

Pull hard but be careful. It will release quickly and you can easily bang your elbow on the ceiling.
