need help with this carbon fiber part

has anybody done an install on on this part? I am thinking about order this, but don't know if it's hard to install. Does it involve taking apart the whole dash board?

Peter its very simple... Once you have the side AC vents out the defroster piece just snap in and snap out... To remove the AC vents you remove the two hex screws on the side, then pull out the round cap, there is one hex screw behind there. Once that is out just pull the vent out.. that is for the passanger side. For driver side same thing accept pull out headlight switch turn to the right and look under the know, there is a little metal piece.. take a small flat head screwdrive and push it in.. the **** then comes out.. after that just unscrew the large nut that holds the headlight unit in place, remove the other hex screw and it comes out.. PM if you have any other questions..

Kevin,

I already did mine also. How did you get the old one out where the metal clip goes up under the pilar? You can see the clips on the outer edge of the picture above. I'm sure you know what I am talking about since you have done it.

Gary & Peter... I forgot in order to remove that you need take off the side pillar piece. There is a cap on your sunvisor, remove that and there are 2 large hex screws.. the visor just comes out and then the side leather pillar molding just comes right out.. That metal piece holds the leather piece in place. Remove that and then the defroster vents come out.. Thanks for the reminder on that Gary..
Thanks Peter!!

Kevin,

I wish I knew that before I just broke the old ones to get them out. (that is why I asked. I knew there had to be someway to get them off) I used the instructions I got from Loren and they did not even mention the metal clips at all nor show them on the instructions. I put the new ones in without the metal clip. They are tight and so far no rattles...
