Not me personally but like I said, I sold a memory module to a guy that had his fail. I don't know what the reason was though. Logically these are generally low current devices with low operational stress but then again they are German electronics and not Japanese. I can see a situation if the car is lightly flooded and water comes into contact with it since it hangs low but otherwise I would think it be rare.

Anybody in the Tampa Bay area have a seat memory module I can borrow?

Does anybody in the Tampa Bay area have a known working seat memory module I can borrow for a quick test?

I tested the drivers side seat switches and they're all good, which means my memory module is officially dead.

I was able to bypass the memory module to temporarily hook up each of the drivers side seat motors to ensure they were working.

While I was researching 8 way seats, I found a great youtube video that shows how to hook up an 8 way power seat to a 996, boxster or other Pcar that doesn't have the power memory module harness. NOTE: the seat pictured above is for an 8 way passenger seat without memory. It also shows how to remove the bottom seat cushion from stock 996 or Boxster seats while the seat frame and rails are still bolted to the floor.
