FVD Headers EO # for CA Smog?

Hey all, i recently tried to get my car smogged and today it failed the visual portion. It passed everything else, except visual. I have had my headers for years and it never had any issues. Today the 'technician' decided to fail it based on visual.

Anyone have an EO# for CA smog? They look like this:

http://www.fvd.us/us/en/Porsche-0/92...ders_3.4L.html

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The header manufacturers need to apply for a CARB exemption number. They are $$$ and hard to get. If they don't already have one you are outbid luck unless you find another smog tech who isn't so stringent on the visual part of the test. Your only option to pass us to install the stock parts, get test passed and then reinstall your headers.

I feel for you. I went through the same exact thing a couple years ago for my Billy Boat headers. The tech also failed me for the visual on my high flow cats and CAI. I called Billy Boat to get the Carb exemption orders. They never got their headers carb certified.
Rather than buy stock parts and swap, I parked my car. I just moved to Idaho and I never have to worry about smog baloney again. If I had stock headers, I would gladly give them to you. Maybe someone else here would loan you their stock headers for a week. I had to put factory cats on my car a few years ago to pass the emission test. I didn't even put my back bumper on, to go back to the smog shop. Best of luck.

Thanks guys. The crazy thing is I have had my car smogged with them for years, never had any issues.

I have access to stock headers, but trying to use that as a last option. Are there any headers out there that are CARB legal?

Not that I know of. Your only choice is to swap back to stock for the test.

I had a similar problem when I brought a car in from out of state. I returned to stock and passed. Cali is getting really strict with these CARB laws. Sorry, I feel your pain.

Porsche OEM X51 headers might do it for you but I'm not sure how you would show that they are CARB certified either

Easily, they're not shiny or polished like most aftermarket headers, lol. That's the easiest give away to aftermarket items that techs look for.
