New Engine - is my car Worth more?

You guys might remember my bad cylinder beginning of this year. I just got my car back with a completely rebuilt engine. Everything is new except the block, which was immaculate. $12,146.05 including labor. I was pretty lucky.

QUESTION. The rest of my car has 96,700 miles on it. Do you think my car is worth more now if I were to sell it, and by how much (ballpark)?

2001 996 Carrera 4

The rest of the car is amazing condition. Fully restored Black Pearl paint. Excellent interior and wheels.

Ballpark: $27,000 to a buyer that truly appreciates the rebuild and condition. Good luck.

Agreed with rrruben especially if the rebuild has taken care of the IMS by installing one of the aftermarket bearings.

I'm gonna play devils advocate here and say it's only going to be worth 2-3k more than other comparable cars with similiar mileage and original engine. This is based on my historical observations following the 996 market for the past few years.

You could get lucky if you have a certain set of features or options on your car and you find the right buyer. You could also get more as this is a great time time to sell for top dollar.

You may get a lot of questions on the "rebuild" as everyone has a different definition of it. Who did it and do you have an itemized invoice of what was done? Any warranty with the rebuild?

$27k? Maybe if it was a 50k mi 02+

99-01 don't go for that much especially with 100k mi.

Thx, guys. All great advice. Just to answer a couple of points: Yes, this includes IMS Bearing issue fix, new rear main seal, new valves, resurfaces headers, new pistons, chains, everything. I've got the list. M&B Motorsports out of FL sends their cores out for complete rebuild over in Poland. They gave me credit for $2000 for my core. They charged me $9,000 plus shipping. 6 month warranty. Plus, I paid Porsche certified mechanics to do the work here in UT. I'm getting the side mirrors repainted next week - clear coat peeling. This makes about 60% of the car repainted this year.
