Block this hose when going MAFless
Hi guys,
The quick connect plastic pipe on the drivers side turbo inlet pipe, do you guys block this when going MAFless / fenderwell intakes??
I have seen some kits/setups retaining this hose connected with a weld fitting and others doesnt seem to retain this connection..

yep, just a breather element for mine. I guess you could route it to a catch can, but I don't see a lot of residue coming from the filter itself...otherwise I would have done that already.

it means running tubing from the turbos to a filter mounted in the fenderwell area behind the i/c. this shortens the air path and allows for a larger y pipe when running mafless

moving the intake air away from the motor heat and shortening the distance will equal a smaller amount of hp. using a larger y pipe allows more air to flow to the t/b also inc hp. more air + more fuel = more hp.
its near impossible to build a 3" y pipe with the factory airbox in place. to remove it requires another place to run the filters. most prefer right off the filters but i worry about heavy rain and the close proximity to the ground. hence moving them to a fairly protected place in the fenderwells. the downside to that is the close proximity of the piping to the suspension and tires when running big rubber. i had the intakes in the fenderwells dented both pipes during hard launches. will be going off the filters with rain socks until i can think of a better setup

I just got my filters steve. I'm going to run in behind the coolers but it's going to be super tight and smash the piping more square to the wall. I'll take some pics after its done. I will be cutting and re welding the intercooler brackets though which most don't want to do.

I'm just putting mine in the press and turning it into oval piping.

I was able to get 3" OD pipe in on the driver side without rubbing, but had to do some fab work on the passenger side pipe to keep it off the tire under suspension compression. I am also running 11mm spacers too...so that helps.
