Question C2 Coupe- need help on pricing?!?

Hello everyone...I am fairly new to the forum and trying to get back to the P-Car family (former 89' 930 owner).

I am seriously looking at the below vehicle here in the Northeast. So far, I got the seller to bargain down to $51K. I went to see the car in person a few weeks ago and it is meticously clean all around and well kept. What do you guys think is worth and is it worth it for me keep counter offering or should I just bite the bullet and close the deal? Thanks fellas!

2002 Porsche Carrera 2dr luxury coupe in mint condition. The car has a CARFAX clean title guarantee. Original sticker price was $78,800 when new. Seal Grey, like new exterior with no dings or scratches at all. Black leather interior, supple, like new with no wear or scratches at all. The vehicle is under manufacturer’s warranty until 11/06/2006. Equipped with a 3.6L H6 DOHC 24V FI Engine 320HP, 6-Speed Manual Transmission, Integrated Dry Sump Lubrication, Cross Flow Cylinder Cooling, Hydraulic Clutch, Front and Rear Stabilizer Bars, BOSE AM/FM/Cassette Audio System with Porsche 6-Cd Changer, Sport Bucket Seats, Full Supple Leather Front and Rear, Advanced Technic Package including Bi-Xenon HID headlamps with washers, remote CD changer, and a 12-speaker Bose digital sound system, Heated Front Seats, Porsche Stability Management (PSM), Porsche Crest in Headrests, Exterior Color Matched Center Console, Fog Lights, Power Heated Mirrors, Keyless Entry System, Power Sunroof, Rear Window Defroster, 18 Inch Lite Alloy Carrera Wheels, 4-Piston Fixed Alloy Calipers, Vented and Perforated Discs, Tachometer, Trip Computer, 4-Wheel ABS, Driver and Passenger Front Airbags, Front Side Airbags, Anti-Theft Alarm System, Leather Seats, Power Seats, Rear Bucket Seats, Cruise Control, Remote Trunk Release, Telescopic Steering Wheel, Leather Shift **** Trim, Leather Steering Wheel Trim, Automatic Climate Control AC, Intermittent Windshield Wipers, Power Windows, Rear Window Wiper, Power Door Locks, Rear Spoiler etc. Mechanically perfect.

Re: C2 Coupe- need help on pricing?!?

sounds a little pricy if no futher discount. i was only offered 52k for my 02 C4S this past weekend and it's a CPO with low miles. so i think you should try to get it even lower.

Yea i was hoping he would bite closer to $46-48k but since he is willing to sign the bill of sale for a much lower value, I would be able to save some on the registration taxes. Plus the cars is spotless and pretty close to new condition. Figure for 2k more, I get the exact car that i want... Thanks for your comments.

Trovan, yours was on a trade, and trade's are notoriously bad. For example I had a 2000 Jetta that the dealer offered me 13k on a trade and I private sold for 16k. So 51k for a private sale C2 in good condition with those options seems fair.

Why not just buy Trovan's C4S? If he's indeed serious about getting a 997S. I'd make him an offer. I'd jump on that C4S in a second. Too bad I've a 996 cab already...

The mileage is extremely low on this C2 though so 51k isn't unreasonable. With about another year of warranty left, it's a safe buy.

TOOTHDOC- thanks for the PM..let me consider your offer and pls post a few pictures here if you will

Trovan's C4S is hot....I'd buy that for 53K as is with the wheels and all.. but not sure if he is willing as I will have to ship the car from CA to NY.

i would sell my C4S to any 6 speeder for the same price as the dealer. it would make my day to not allow such highway robbery from the dealer.

the only problem: my car is leased with porsche FS who insist on releasing the title to me even if someone else buys it. i will have to sign over the title to the true buyer.

the whole thing is confusing when it come to registration and not getting double taxed. it is also time consuming. which makes trading in much easier.

i would say if anyone can figure out a way to buy the car from porsche without all the trouble and the headache of me going down to DMV, they can have the car at 52.5K, which is the dealer's highest bid. that is not a bad deal for a car with certifed warranty until 08 and passed certification last May with flying colors.
