Got some mods installed this weekend...
I was very limited in the time I got to spend with the car as we had family in town for the holiday weekend and it was PAINFUL!!! I had three opportunities to spend some bonding time and I made every excuse to run here or there or anywhere! So what did I do during my time off? Well...
First things first Project #1:
Remove old Seats, followed by remove center console to install B&M SSK...
- Install Short Shift Kit: Simple Install BUT I forgot to mark the cables OOOPS and I even read about the fact B&M forgot that in the insructions!!! So... I had the wonderful opportunity of removing the center console and installing TWICE!!! I could not get the transmission into Reverse, I did not even think to check before reinstalling all of the parts...No biggie I can do it in my sleep now!
-Hardwire V1 w/ AI Mirror... This went smoothly and quickly I used the bracket from an old CD changer to mount the V1 as someone else on the forum had done before me. It worked out perfectly I ran the phone cable under the carpet and up the headliner plastic pieces finally along the Headliner near the windshield the Install was a snap I splice into one of the lights in the overhead console for Ignition only power Piece of cake! 1 hour job tops!
-At this point I realized my seat belts were not on the seats so I had to pull the Newly installed sport seats out for a second time to install the seat belt female and wiring harness pain in the @ss but again a learning experience.
Done for the day... (actually this was done in two sessions)

Next Project: Oil change, Caliper swap and Bleed
Oil change as many know can't be any easier that was the cleanest oil change EVER not a drip on the garage floor or my body! I always use latex. Better be safe then sorry!
Caliper swap.... Well I got this done in three hours... the first side took a good two hours I did many things that made the install go slow. But the second side went SUPER FAST. I think I can swap these things out in probably 1 1/2 hours now. The Motiv Power Bleeder is one of my favorite tools swaping the OE fluid for super blue was a snap. The pads were 50% but I replaced them anyway I had a full set given to me so Free might as well use them. AHHHH brakes feel sooooo good nice and firm. Oh and the little reds look incredible too! I was a little uneasy lifting the car for the first time but with a little help from some past posts it was pretty easy.

Oh I also replaced the clear lights for Litronics and replaced the orange turn signals for clear.
I noticed one thing on my car what is this?
Next project PSE install... (This weekend!)

Eric everything is looking great so far!! If I can make one suggestion I know you took the rims off already.. but its fun to repeat things... Painting the brake hubs silver to match your car would look very nice.. Here is the post when I did mine... Im about to do this on my Cayenne.. It looks a lot better!!
Painting Hubs
PS Turn the center caps to aim at the valve stems.. or the Porsche police will give you a ticket

Admiration
I admire your confidence and ability to do these type of modifications on your car. I wouldn't try any of these projects for fear that I would break something and/or couldn't get everything back together. Then I'd wind up at the dealer anyway. However, I do plan to change my oil soon. I have the tools, oil, etc. Wish me luck.
BTW, I'm sure that working on your own car just adds to the ownership pleasure. Thanks for sharing.

Tom... I have done projects with extra screws before.... But I have it down pretty well at this point to remember where everything goes... It is a great feeling to really get to know the in's and out's of your car. I say go for it!
