I am thinking about turbo charging a porsche 996 carrera, but the packages are very expensive for this car. What is the best cheap way to turbo a 996 carrera?

 

If you want to do it yourself, a supercharger setup is simple and fairly cheap with similar gains. I have a thread on my build. Will be well under $5k using a used supercharger including a custom tune. I originally planned to do a turbo but the piping is pretty complicated if you don’t have the welding and pipe bending tools. I did my setup with some pretty crappy basic tools lol.

 

Sell your car and buy a real turbo.

 

We dream of turbo builds in California but there is no hope of passing SMOG.

 

I used to own a 996Turbo and a 996GT3. I recently drove a 1999 996c2 with a 3.8stroker engine in it. That is the route I will go. Amazing power and torque.
