New Owner / IMS Change: Tool Rental
Hey Folks!
I've been searching for a 996 for a few months now and finally came across "the one" two weeks ago, down in San Antonio Texas. It's a clean, well optioned, mk2 car with a whole list of service records (Clutch, FW, PP, RMS, AOS, Coil Packs, etc, etc.) Mind-blowingly enough, they never replaced the IMS. The PO (who seemed somewhat unknowledgeable about the cars service history (long story)) was quoted for the LN IMS Solution but, never went through with it. My guess... the shop was trying to make some extra coin and never quoted a cheaper option.
All that aside, I love the car. It made the trip up to northern colorado without missing a beat and I can't wait to get it up into some canyon roads. Before I spend too much time behind the wheel though, I need to replace this IMS...
Does anyone on here lend/rent the bearing removal and timing lock tools?
